Genadi Grigorov: Modern farming equipment is part of the farm success

Success stories - how farmers work with Case IH in the Farm of Genadi Grigorov

23 years of Genadi Grigorov's life are dedicated to working with the land. We visit his farm in the municipality of Hitrino and find out that grain production has become a successful agribusiness, which the farmer, together with his family, constantly upgrades and develops through investments in modern agricultural equipment and innovative technologies.

I believe one farm is successful when you manage to renew your fleet which is very important. For us farmers it is clear – there is no way to make successful farming with old equipment. If you manage to buy new equipment to replace the old one according to your farm`s needs each year – this is successful farming!

And indeed, the farm's fleet proves the farmer's words. In recent years, he has been investing in the key equipment for one farm - harvesting equipment. Last year, Genady bought a Case IH Axial-Flow 8250 harvester with a MacDon draper header.

The rotor technology gives the owner higher productivity, while the ordinary straw-shaking conventional combine has a medium level of capacity. For example, you can't switch to a higher-performance machine without going to a rotary harvester. In the case of a rotary combine, the method of threshing is grain on grain. There is no such contact of the grain with the rotor. On the other hand, the threshing is good and the grain breakage of the rotary combine is much less. This is very clear, especially in maize.

With a track harvester, compaction is minimal compared to a wheel harvester. There is no such compaction of the soil itself and it is really better for the soil!

The efficiency of each machine is very important for the quality and quantity of the harvest. Even more when the equipment operates in harsh conditions. The combination that Genadi relies on in this regard - a Case IH Axial-Flow 8250 harvester with a MacDon draper header, turned out to be the right solution for his farm.

In reality, the AFS Harvest Command system gives freedom to the combine operator himself. When the harvesting conditions change, it automatically adjusts the parameters of the combine. In this way, higher productivity is achieved without operator intervention.

The Case IH Axial-Flow 8250 cab is really very luxurious - both air conditioning and heating. Everything is on top. And the seat has air conditioning. It is very comfortable!

Until last year, I had no idea about the MacDon header. I really liked this header. I actually had reclining barley last year. It picked it up almost 100% and at a speed that no other header would pick it up.

After the good results achieved with the Case IH rotary combine and the MacDon draper header, Genady decided to invest again in the same combination of machines and this year he is harvesting with the two Case IH Axial-Flow 8250 combines.

I needed a second combine and after deciding on the first Case IH combine and got satisfied – I decided to buy a second one of the same brand.

The main thing I can say is that we have good service for the region.

This is a combine that is very easy to service. Every morning you need to service the machine before going out in the field. And that was the main thing when decided on buying the first combine. And it proved us for real that the equipment deserves to be bought.

Not only the machines, but also the new technologies that are applied in a farm are an important factor for its successful and cost-effective development. That is why Genady also shares his experience with Case IH AFS and AFS RTK + signal for corrections from the network of Titan Machinery Bulgaria.

I already have three navigations from Titan Machinery with signal correction on all three machines. I have been using the first navigation for more than a year and I am very pleased. And the correction signal is very good. It helps, there is no overlapping, no driver fatigue and you can monitor many other activities while the combine or other equipment moves automatically in the field.

At the end of our visit to Genadi's farm in Hitrino, we ask him what is the direction in which he wants to develop in the future. And after seeing his successful farm, his answer does not surprise us:

After 23 years of grain production, this is the direction!
