Great Small Workhorses of Wacker Neuson

26.09.2023

With 40 years of background in the engineering and manufacture of mini and compact excavators, the Wacker Neuson company offers today an extensive range of 16 tracked models of operating weights from 1 to 10 t. They feature great manoeuvrability, productivity, fuel efficiency, operator comfort and innovative technologies. The official representative of Wacker Neuson in the country is Titan Machinery Bulgaria.

During the past four decades, as well as today, the Wacker Neuson innovations for the mini excavators follow one after the other, but the most unique of them is the Vertical Digging system (VDS). It allows digging a vertical trench even when the machine is operated on a slope - on uneven terrain, grade or when one of the tracks has to sit on a curb.

The benefits of this system are remarkable: faster, more efficient and more precise digging or backfilling of the trench at a very comfortable working position of the operator (the superstructure of the excavator is side lifted up to 15°). Thus, to achieve the desired depth and width of the trench, the VDS allows up to 25% less dirt digging, saves up to 25% of the time needed and provides much better stability of the mini excavator, as well as maximum swing speed.

Champions in the mini class

The Wacker Neuson range includes four models in the lightest segment. The conventional tail ET16 (1.6 t) and the zero tail swing EZ17 (1.7) stand out among them. They are complemented by the EZ17e (1.8 t) - an all electric drive model with electric motor and battery, as well as by the 803 Dual Power (1 t), which can be operated both on diesel and electricity.

The best selling models ET18 (1,8 т), ЕТ20 (2 т) and ЕТ24 (2.2 t) stand in the next segment of the range. They feature a modern hydraulic system with summation regulation, which provides 30% bigger hydraulic output for higher productivity. The machines offer two speed drive (fast and slow), extendable undercarriage (900 mm - 1300 mm) with swinging blade segments, as well as VDS (option). The cabs impress with a high level of comfort and perfect visibility, offering two side doors for easier entry and exit.

The 2.7 t EZ26 model features a zero tail swing and relies on a load sensing hydraulics with flow sharing for easy and precise control. It has an auto idle system to help cut fuel and emissions.

The ET35 and EZ36 models are definitely remarkable in the 3.5-4 t class. With conventional and zero tail swing respectively, they feature an optimized engine-pump management for 15% faster work cycles, three work modes (ECO, HI and LOW) for maximum fuel efficiency, VDS (option) and comfortable cabin with air conditioner (standard).

The heaviest mini excavators: ET42 (4.2 t), EZ50 (5 t, zero tail swing) and ET58 (5.5), score highest in productivity and cab comfort. Unlike the other models in the range equipped with Yanmar engines, these machines have Perkins units.

Compact leaders

In addition to the mini excavator range, Wacker Neuson also offers three compact tracked models: ET65 (6.3 t), EZ80 (8.3 t, zero tail swing) and ET 90 (9.2 t), in which the company engineers have put the best for this machine segment. In the first place, their fuel consumption is up to 20% lower in comparison with competition models in this class. Just like with the biggest mini excavator models, the 3-point kinematics of the bucket provides deeper vertical digging and up to 20% bigger break out force. The optional articulated boom offers up to 30% higher productivity with the same fuel consumption.

All Wacker Neuson mini and compact excavators can be equipped with the optional EquipCare telematics system so the customers can monitor the technical and working condition of the machines 24/7.
