Case Motor Graders - More Power, Precision and Comfort

09.01.2024

Case Construction Equipment, being a world leading manufacturer of earthmoving equipment, has a full range of all types of excavators and loaders. What is more, the company offers two motor grader models featuring advanced technologies, high productivity, fuel efficiency, reliability and increased operator comfort. Over 10 years the official representative and service provider of Case Construction Equipment in our country is Titan Machinery Bulgaria.

The smaller 836C motor grader model has an operating weight of 12.5 t and maximum engine power of 156 hp. The bigger 856C features respectively 16.2 t and 190 hp. Both machines have 6x6 wheel drive versions designated as 836C AWD and 856С AWD. The innovative super comfortable control with two electro-hydraulic joysticks is a very important innovation about the Case moto graders from the beginning of 2023 (the steering wheel remains). Now the customers can choose between the new system and the conventional lever control.

Supreme ease of control

The electro-hydraulic joysticks are built into multi-adjustable armrests on each side of the operator’s seat. Each joystick is equipped with multiple roller switches and push buttons, to control the working hydraulic and steering functions. The redesigned side console now contains additional switches that allow adjustments to the system as per the operator’s needs. This most advanced control system allows for co-ordinated simultaneous movements for unmatched ease and comfort during operation.

The new Joystick Steering allows the operator to steer the machine using the left-hand side joystick and the also new RTC function allows the operator to return all steering commands back to the centred position by just pushing the dedicated button. This allows the operator to control the machine without having to take their hands off the joysticks. The remarkable Combined Steering brings together the various steering commands into one control function. Once activated, front wheel steering, frame articulation and wheel lean work together as the operator turns the steering wheels or moves the joystick.

Power and efficiency

The C-series Case motor graders are powered by the newest 6.7-litre FPT diesel engines. They achieve the EU Stage V emission standards through a combination of a maintenance-free Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) and a module combining selective catalytic reduction and particle filtering (SCR on Filter). The diesel engines are application-engineered specifically to work in a grader operation, where fast torque response is required to maintain high productivity levels.

The Case motor graders rely on a ZF Ergopower powershift transmission with six forward and three reverse gears. Automatic gear shifting optimises machine performance, leaving the operator free to concentrate on moldboard and blade work. The Dual Power system additionally increases performance and efficiency by picking up the engine output when working from fourth to sixth gear. A 100% automatic differential lock ensures maximum traction in all operating conditions.

Moldboard design revolutionizes and maximizes controllability: very low friction developed during operation, jolt-free high rotation torque for a very smooth and accurate blade rotation and steadiness. The slewing ring is mounted on roller bearings activated by internal gearing avoiding backlash, wear and supporting high mechanical strain. The exclusive moldboard design, with fewer greasing points and no periodical substitution of wear inserts, reduces the daily maintenance drastically.

The Case motor graders can be delivered to the customer in a plug-and-play set-up, allowing rapid installation of 2D and 3D machine control systems. These automatic blade control systems allow even the most inexperienced operator to achieve higher productivity and more constant output.
