High-tech Solutions from the Leaders in Tillage - Väderstad and Grégoire Besson

28.06.2022

Soil preparation with efficient and intelligent technologies ensures application of sustainable value-added agriculture. Titan Machinery Bulgaria has been giving its customers the opportunity to practise modern agriculture for years. At BATA Agro 2022, the company presented high-tech tillage solutions of the French brand Grégoire Besson, which has been in the portfolio of Titan Machinery since 2020, as well as of the Swedish brand Väderstad, which is unsurpassed in its productivity.

A special guest from Grégoire Besson at the stand of BATA Agro was the sales manager Csaba Urbán. The machines attracted great interest, and Shaba Urban gave more information to all interested in the specific models.

“We have exhibited our Voyager S70 plough. It can be coupled with 250 to 400 hp tractors. Our tillage solutions are suitable for both small and large farms. Voyager S70 has 7 furrows, but we also offer machines with 5 to 9 furrows. In my opinion, this meets the needs of different farmers. And this is exactly what is most important for us - to help farmers be more precise with their machines", said Urbán.

Traditionally, the products of the Swedish manufacturer Väderstad that were exhibited were the seed drills from the two top product lines Rapid and Spirit, as well as the multipurpose cultivator TopDown.

In Bulgaria, in most regions, the soils are heavier. It is in these conditions that Titan Machinery Bulgaria recommends the Rapid seed drill. Its single disc seed coulters penetrates the soil, producing fine soil close to the seed and thereby providing the important seed-to-soil contact that is crucial for germination.

“The machine is equipped with quite a heavy roller, which levels really well and compacts the soil when sowing in heavier soils.

With the Spirit seed drill on the other hand we have double disc sowing. This drill is more suitable for farmers who prefer to work with the front disc section of the machine deeper than their sowing depth. Here, to ensure a firm seedbed, large packer wheels consolidate the soil prior to seed placement”, explained the product manager Lyudmil Stoitsev.

The Rapid seed drill, which celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2021, is available in working widths of 3 to 8 meters. And the Spirit product range is available working widths of 3 to 9 meters with or without fertiliser metering.

Both Rapid and Spirit can be equipped with the innovative Väderstad SeedEye blockage-monitoring system. It is this system that in 2020 was awarded with the gold medal for innovative agricultural machinery at the largest agricultural exhibition in Russia - Agrosalon.

In short, SeedEye simplifies the farmer’s job and increases productivity, reduces labour costs and allows for a more economical use of seed material.

Väderstad’s TopDown multipurpose cultivator is among the top choices for farmers. The machine is a combination of a disc harrow, followed by implements that can be modified depending on the field conditions.

“This machine is designed to do several treatments in one single pass and therefore to save time, preserve ground moisture and lowers costs. The first section of the machine is a disc cultivator, which is equipped with conical discs. We only work with conical discs, which provide really good mixing of the soil and crop residues, so that we can achieve a homogeneous seedbed for the subsequent crop. The second zone of the machine are the working bodies. We use them to work in depth and mix the soil. The unique thing about them is that they are equipped with the so-called MixIn shins which throw the soil forward. This ensures more intensive mixing of the soil with the crop residues. The last working zone of the machine is the levelling, where we have an aggressive and heavy roller with which we manage to compact the soil really well ", said Lyudmil Stoitsev.
