Stories of Success: Dimitar Cholakov and the Continuity in the Family Agribusiness

Built with perseverance and vision for nearly three decades, near the town of Pavlikeni lies the farm of "Cholakov – Radenko Cholakov" ET. Today, 26-year-old young farmer Dimitar Cholakov is the driving force behind the company, which cultivates 1 600 hectares of land.

"Just as agriculture chose me, I chose it too!" shares Dimitar, who has been connected to the land and fieldwork since childhood. The farm was founded in 1999 by his parents, with a primary focus on grain production. The main crops are wheat, sunflower, corn, rapeseed, and barley.

For the past 10 years, Dimitar has been actively rtaking part in agronomic activities such as soil cultivation, crop sowing, and harvesting.

Family continuity is at the heart of the farm's success, but a large part of that success also stems from the reliable machinery the Cholakov family trusts.
"For good results in a farm, machinery is the determining factor for everything – both for high yields and for shorter processing terms," Dimitar firmly states. "The first combine harvester we purchased was a Case IH. After that came several more – and the brand established itself in our company as very reliable!" says the young farmer.

This year’s harvest campaign has gone smoothly and on time, thanks in part to the Case IH Axial Flow 7250 combine. Dimitar notes that the machine is fuel-efficient, productive, and comfortable for the operator, making it an indispensable asset during the harvest.

"We finished the harvest of autumn crops quite quickly this year, and with good results – without breakdowns, thanks to the equipment we have. Compared to previous Case IH combine models we've used, this machine is more productive, more economical, and more comfortable."

The farm also relies on the Väderstad Carrier 625 XL disc cultivator, which has been working flawlessly for three seasons now. It is used in combination with the Case IH Puma 240 AFS tractor for both stubble cultivation and moisture retention, as well as pre-sowing soil preparation for rapeseed.

The Case IH Puma 240 AFS tractor is another key player on the farm: "The Case IH Puma 240 tractor we have on our farm is economical, has enough power to pull the disc harrow we use, and so far, it has proven to be an excellent machine. It's very comfortable for the operator, with all the necessary work conveniences," says Dimitar.

In combination with Väderstad seeders, this tractor ensures efficiency and reliability in every campaign.

At just 26, Dimitar Cholakov already has a clear vision for the future: "In 10 years, I want to see my farm more successful and more developed!" He is also confident that:
