Preparing a Case IH Tractor for Spring Planting
The active spring field campaign is approaching. That is why we have summarized the most important points to consider when preparing Case IH tractors after the winter season. To bring the machine into working condition, it is necessary to inspect the battery, starter, and alternator. The fuel system also requires attention, as condensation often forms when the tractor has not been operated for an extended period.
It is а good practice to check the hydraulic system, as well as inspect the running gear. Last but not least, it is important to inspect the cab, lights, and wiring for possible damage caused by rodents.
The tractor’s hydraulic settings before the start of the sowing campaign are crucial for proper aggregation with mounted implements and for making full use of their potential.
Preparation should begin with a preliminary inspection of the system – oil level, bleeding, condition of hoses, and quick couplers. Adjustment of the hitch system is important for the proper leveling of the planter and regulation of the working depth.
Inspection of the auxiliary hydraulic valves and adjustment of constant flow are also an important part of preparation for working with Väderstad Tempo planters, as their hydraulic fan requires it.
If the machine is equipped with hydraulic section downforce, there is an option to adjust this pressure directly from the cab.
