Case IH Puma short wheelbase – excellent manoeuvrability and more comfort for the operator

09.11.2022

It has already been proven over the years that CASE IH tractors of the Puma series are superior in every respect – solidity, performance, comfort, service. But what do you know about the new short version of Puma tractors?

The Case IH Puma short wheelbase includes 3 engine models with a power of 150, 165 and 175 hp. All are equipped with the new 6-cylinder Stage V engines with a volume of 6.7 litres, which use the patented technology for exhaust gases treatment – HI-eSCR2, which does not need expensive DPF filters. The capacity of the AdBlue tank is 48 litres and the fuel tank is 330 litres, ensuring long working days without the need for refuelling.

The Puma SWB tractor has the option of 3 different transmissions: CVX, Semi Powershift and Full Powershift, but the flagship Puma 175 is only available with the stepless CVX gearbox.

An important innovation for operator convenience is that the tractors of this series are equipped with electro-hydraulic control of the 4x4 drive, as well as with an electro-hydraulic differential lock.

Another specific feature of the Puma short version is that the tractor can be ordered with factory equipment of the 2nd or 3rd category of the hitch system with a lifting arm capacity of 8,257 kg. There is also a choice for farmers regarding the power of the hydraulic hitch system, which can be with a pump with a capacity of 110 to 150 l/min depending on the model. The hydraulic valves outputs may be 4 or 5, electrical or mechanical.

An important innovation with Case IH Puma is the automatic PTO shaft soft start offering operating speeds of 540/540E/1000 rpm. The operation of the PTO and lifting arms can also be controlled with quick buttons located on the tractor fender. The short version of the Puma also has as standard an electro-hydraulic PTO drive, which is driven directly from the tractor's crankshaft. The front hitch of this compact universal tractor series has a capacity of 3,568 kg.

An option to the Case IH Puma new short base is an active suspension on the front axle providing exceptional comfort during work and transport activities.

The tractor can be equipped with 20 LED lights providing excellent visibility during operation in the dark hours of the day. The Puma SWB tractors have spacious cabins with a volume of 5.45 sq.m. Another advantage are the tinted windows on all sides, which provide excellent visibility in all directions. Optionally, the tractor may be equipped with a panoramic hatch, especially when front-loader work is planned.

All operational data for the tractor operation as well as GPS are displayed and controlled through the multi-function Case IH AFS PRO 700 colour display. In addition, the tractors of the Puma series can be ordered from the factory with the new AccuTurn functionality for automated turning at the end of the slope. Cabin comfort includes an optional leather seat with two-way side swivel, backrest control and heating.
